Silverlight is a legacy plugin which is no longer actively developed. As a consequence, it does not support running inside Enhanced Protected Mode's AppContainers. EPM is a security feature first introduced in IE10 and enabled by default in the desktop for IE11. Microsoft Silverlight will reach the end of support on October 12, 2021. Silverlight development framework is currently only supported on Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11, with support for Internet Explorer 10 ending on January 31, 2020. The mode makes Internet Explorer run in 64 bit mode, making some plugins unavailable, including Silverlight. The warning displayed by Internet Explorer 11 is asking the user to trust the website (to force it to not use enhanced protection mode, put it back in 32 bit mode) to enable the plugin.
